Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is set to appear on an upcoming album by Michael Schenker titled ‘My Years In UFO.’ The rumors about the collaboration have been around for some time now and it has recently been confirmed. Although the album hasn’t been officially announced yet, it’s scheduled to be released on September 20.
What Does The Album Feature?
The album features new recordings of UFO songs from Schenker’s time with the band, and its cover is loosely inspired by UFO’s classic live album ‘Strangers in the Night.’ According to the tracklist on Amazon, Axl Rose will sing a new version of the song ‘Love To Love.’ The track originally appeared on UFO’s 1977 album ‘Lights Out.’
To celebrate the 50th anniversary in 2024, Schenker has re-recorded 11 of his UFO hits from that same period. Contributors include Slash from Guns N’ Roses, Dee Snider, Steven Pearcy from Ratt, Roger Glover from Deep Purple, and Biff Byford from Saxon.
Other musicians featured on the album include former Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner, Whitesnake’s Joel Hoekstra, Europe’s Joey Tempest and John Norum, Carmine Appice, former Skid Row frontman Erik Grönwall, Jeff Scott Soto, Helloween’s Kai Hansen, and former Whitesnake member Adrian Vandenberg.
