In a new conversation with Spin, Andy Biersack revealed the Meat Loaf album that will make you more fun.
The Black Veil Brides frontman listed the five albums he can’t live without. His fifth choice was Loaf’s 1977 debut album, ‘Bat Out of Hell.’
“The pinnacle of a theatrical over the top, insane rock and roll opus,” the singer said of the album. “This record was one of my early favorites, as my dad introduced me to it when I was a kid.”
He continued, “I have vivid memories of walking the halls of my high school with my anti-skip (sh*t never worked) CD Walkman tucked into my backpack and listening to ‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’ cranked at the maximum volume that my crappy little headphones would allow.”
“I attempted to learn every lyric to every song including the spoken word bizarro sections,” Biersack added. “Jim Steinman was a genius and this record is an all-time classic for a reason. Everyone should listen to ‘Bat Out Of Hell,’ it will make you a much more fun person to be around.”
Andy also previously told Audio Ink Radio that their latest album, ‘The Phantom Tomorrow,’ featured big guitar riffs and choruses, similar to the style of Meat Loaf and other classic rock artists.
The vocalist noted, “I think that for us, there’s kind of this thing where a lot of bands that are our contemporaries have kind of strayed from the guitar-oriented, big chorus rock. And, that to me is like, that’s what we love. That’s the music that we make. If people grow apathetic to that type of music, that’s their prerogative.”
“But for us, that’s what we love to make. That’s why we got into making music in the first place,” Andy revealed. “The discovery, for me, of KISS when I was a kid or for different reasons Bruce Springsteen or Meatloaf or any of these artists, was always the big chorus and the guitar solo and the fun and the sing-along nature of it.”
In April, Black Veil Brides started a new chapter with their single ‘Bleeders’ and a new EP of the same name. This is their first release with Spinefarm Records.
