Alex Skolnick thinks it is funny of Sam Rivers’ wish for Joe Biden to step down from being the Democratic nominee for the upcoming elections.
The Testament guitarist shared the news and just replied with a laughing emoji. The bassist is urging Biden to step down as the Democratic nominee to protect American democracy. He wrote in a recent Facebook post:
“You can’t win, Joe. It’s time to go. If Democrats want to keep rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ in November, they’re going to need somebody young and fresh. Word?”
Skolnick is known for his outspoken views against Donald Trump. Previously in 2020, he even wrote a rap song titled ‘Trump Sucks.’ The song had funk elements and criticized various aspects of the Trump administration.
Others Also Want Biden To Step Down
The Limp Bizkit bassist joined other celebrities like Rob Reiner, Michael Stipe, and George Clooney in asking Biden to step aside, believing he can’t beat Trump. Many Democrats now think Biden is too old and mentally unfit to serve another term, especially after his poor debate performance last month.
Clooney wrote the following about Biden in the New York Times:
“We are not going to win in November with this president. On top of that, we won’t win the House, and we’re going to lose the Senate. This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I’ve spoken with in private.”
Last week, 20 Democrats out of over 260 in Congress have urged the president to step down. Meanwhile, top party leaders were vague and unclear when asked for their stance.
More recently, California Rep. Adam Schiff urged President Biden to drop his reelection bid. Democrats are moving forward with a virtual vote to officially nominate Biden before their convention in August.
