In a recent concert, Ace Frehley shared his political views.
A fan captured video from the show saw the guitarist saying:
“This f*cking country is in trouble. There’s only one person that’s gonna fix it. You know who the f*ck I’m talking about.”
Eddie Trunk also shared the video on X, writing in the caption:
“Never expected Ace to get political… Thoughts?”
Frehley’s Previous Statements On Politics
It is seen in the video that concert-goers start shouting Trump after the rocker’s words. This isn’t the first time Frehley voiced his support for Donald Trump. In 2020, he spoke on the Cassius Morris Show and it came up when discussing his cover of the song ‘Politician’ from his album ‘Origins, Vol. 2.’ Ace stated:
“I don’t think politics and rock & roll mix — in my opinion. And I try to stay away from that as much as I can. I mean, once in a while, I’ll make a crack. I will say I’m a Trump supporter. All the politicians have had skeletons in the closet. But I think Trump is the strongest leader that we’ve got on the table.”
Frehley also showed his support for Trump in December 2018 on the Juliet: Unexpected podcast. He said at the time:
“I hate politics. I don’t like talking politics, and I don’t think politics and music mix. I really frown on musicians who get up on a platform and start talking about the president or complain about… I just don’t think it belongs. I’m an entertainer. There’s no reason to bring up politics. Let me play my guitar and write songs and entertain people. That’s my job.”
The musician continued:
“Let me say this about Trump. Whether you love him or hate him, if you’re an American and you’re a patriot, you should get behind your president. He was elected. We live under the Constitution of the United States, and you’re supposed to support your president. Love him or hate him, you’re supposed to support him, or go move to another country.”
On the other hand, Frehley’s former KISS bandmate, Paul Stanley, has been critical of Trump in recent years. In 2020, he criticized Trump for saying the 2020 election might be rigged if he loses. Stanley said this kind of statement is harmful and disrespectful to the idea of free and fair elections.
