During a recent interview with the Metal Voice, Accept’s Mark Tornillo talked about his concern over today’s metal scene in the United States.
He said the band doesn’t have sell-out shows in the States, explaining:
“No trouble selling tickets in South America. No trouble selling tickets in Europe or anywhere else. So I think the United States is just not metal territory anymore. I don’t know why.”
Tornillo Hopes For U.S. Tours
The host, Alan Dixon, replied to him:
“We just had Adrian Vandenberg a couple of weeks ago. He was saying the same thing. ıt was kind of a test drive for him going around this tour, but the reaction was so strong that they’re going to do a full tour down the road. His agent makes it now.”
Tornillo went on to speak about his wish to perform in the States:
“Let’s hope so. I hope they prove me wrong. I mean, I would love nothing better than to tour the US every year, but we’ll see how it plays out.”
Accept Prepares To Release A New Record
Accept will release their new album, ‘Humanoid,’ on April 26, 2024. The title track arrived in February. The band’s guitarist, Wolf Hoffmann, talked about the upcoming record:
“I am extremely pleased with ‘Humanoid.’ The album has great energy throughout! Working with the best metal producer, Andy Sneap was once again a lot of fun! We are a great team. We all love the new album and look forward to playing it live! Hope our fans will like it as much as we do.”
Accept will have a European headline tour for autumn 2024. They will perform more than 20 shows across the continent. Before that, the band will also appear at several major festivals. Their South American tour starts in April.
As they announced in January, Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra will join the band to replace Phil Shouse during the tour’s South American and European festival legs. Shouse will remain as the band’s permanent live guitarist for other performances.
