AC/DC revealed new band members but fans don’t seem to like it much.
The band shared a photo from the studio and wrote in the caption of their Instagram post:
“In the studio, gearing up for the Power Up Tour, kicking off in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, in just one week!”

However, according to some fans, it is not the band they want. One of them wrote in the comment section:
“No Cliff, no Phil, no Mal… What kind of AC/DC is that?”
Another one said:
“Not AC/DC. Anymore just a cabaret act now. Such a shame.”
One other AC/DC fan also didn’t like how the band is right now:
“It just looks like a completely different band.”
AC/DC’s Power Up Tour Starts Soon
In February, the band teased their return on social media by showing their lightning bolt symbol and playing their song ‘Are You Ready?’ This got fans thinking they might tour again after eight years. Then, on February 12, they announced the Power Up Tour. They also revealed that former Jane’s Addiction bass guitarist Chris Chaney would replace Cliff Williams. The band wrote on social media:
“We are thrilled to finally announce the ‘POWER UP’ European Tour. Angus, Brian, Stevie, and Matt will be joined by Chris Chaney to carry the torch for Cliff. The tour will see us play shows across Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France & Ireland this Summer. We can’t wait to see you all out there.”
Williams retired after the Rock Or Bust tour in 2015-2016, when Brian Johnson also stepped down because of hearing problems. But both Williams and Johnson were part of AC/DC’s 2020 album ‘Power Up’ and performed at the band’s first concert in over seven years last October.
Fans also thought that Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan might be the new AC/DC bassist. McKagan later clarified that he didn’t join the band. CAA’s co-head of international touring, Chris Dalston, revealed to Pollstar in March that AC/DC sold 1.5 million tickets in one day. The Pretty Reckless will support the band during the tour.
