After more than 30 years in Hollywood, there isn’t much Aaron Eckhart hasn’t done, and now the veteran actor is back at it again in Classified, the new action-thriller from director Roel Reiné that promises to be one heck of a tense ride. Eckhart stars alongside Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth as a CIA agent whose daughter – an MI6 analyst – tracks him down and tells him nothing is as it seems, and that his boss has been dead for years. They then set out to find out who has actually been giving him his instructions all this time, leading to a shocking discovery that uncovers a dark web of secrets.
In an explosive new clip from Classified (seen below), we see Eckhart at an outdoor restaurant with a concerned look on his face as he asks a waitress to use the phone. After an anxious conversation with an unknown speaker that ends with the mystery man saying he’s already dead, a car bursts into the scene along with an SUV, followed by men getting out of the vehicle to start launching bullets at their CIA target. Eckhart manages to evade them by jumping into the car and running one of the assailants down, which seemingly leads to a hot pursuit as the clip ends.
Set to premiere on all VOD platforms on October 22 from Saban Films, this is Eckhart’s third action thriller of the year. He’s already starred in Renny Harlin’s The Bricklayer, which is based on the 2010 novel by Paul Lindsay that he penned under the name Noah Boyd, and a few months after that, Eckhart also starred in Jesse V. Johnson’s Chief of Station. He clearly has a penchant for the genre, having previously starred in the likes of The Dark Knight, Olympus Has Fallen (and its sequel, London Has Fallen), as well as Battle: Los Angeles, and 2019’s Line of Duty. We’re not complaining, mind you, as we’ll gladly take all the Eckhart we can get, no matter the role.
Aaron Eckhart Trades Bullets for Life Preservers in New Sharksploitation Movie
Turning from bullets to great whites, Eckhart can be seen next in yet another Renny Harlin film, Deep Water, starring alongside Ben Kingsley. The survival-horror flick follows a group of international passengers en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai who are forced to make an emergency landing in shark-infested waters, and must work together in hopes to overcome the frenzy of jaws drawn to the wreckage.

Classified Review: Another Day, Another Aaron Eckhart CIA Thriller
Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth try to add excitement and humor to a passable B-movie thriller about a CIA hitman who uncovers a shocking secret.
Though the film has yet to set a release date, it should be noted that it comes by way of none other than KISS member Gene Simmons, who formed a partnership in 2023 with Arclight Films’ chairperson Gary Hamilton, thus creating Simmons/Hamilton Productions. This will be their first movie under the new banner, which will hopefully set the tone for things to come, as it sounds as if Deep Water is going to be a fun addition to the Sharksploitation sub-genre that’s seen a surge in recent years thanks to films like MEG, No Way Up, and the Netflix hit Under Paris.
A CIA hit man uses the classified section in newspapers to receive his assignments. When he learns the shocking news that his boss has been dead for years, he tries to find out whose orders he’s been executing.
