A Slipknot fan found out about the identity of the band’s new drummer.
Slipknot will have their new drummer’s first show before Las Vegas’ Sick New World festival this weekend, on April 25. Last year, both keyboardist Craig Jones and drummer Jay Weinberg left the band. It looks like they revealed new members’ names on their new website, youcantkillme.com.
The website seems like it’s from the early 2000s, with pictures from the band’s 1999 lineup. It seems to tease their 25th album anniversary. There are clues hidden around, like a riddle about a seed. The ‘Guestbook’ has fan reviews, and the ‘Music’ tab lists songs and refers to downloads as ‘modems.’
A Fan Has A Guess About The New Band Members
A Slipknot fan on Reddit found hidden clues by discovering a secret video on the website and checking its code. The code revealed the first names of all current members, including two new ones: Eloy and Jeff. The Reddit user posted a picture of the band members’ faces from the video.
People say Slipknot’s new drummer might be Eloy Casagrande, who used to drum for Sepultura. He left Sepultura in February to work on something new. He said in his statement:
“So, first of all, I reiterate my thanks to Sepultura and the fans for everything we’ve been through. Maybe for the band’s fans it doesn’t make sense at this point, but decisions needed to be made thinking about new cycles that will come. We are made of choices and they are not always easy. My departure will never erase my respect and gratitude to the band. There is a lot to come and I hope to continue making a lot of music and art. See you on the road.”
Later, Slipknot shared a photo of a broken drumstick, and it was the same kind Casagrande usually uses. They captioned their Instagram post:
“Rehearsal.”
It is unclear who Jeff is, but some Reddit users think it might be Jeff Karnowski from Dirty Little Rabbits, a band Clown, and Tortilla Man were part of in the 2000s. After their show on April 25, the band’s next concert is on April 27 at the Sick New World Festival. They will also perform at Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple Festival in May.
