In a new interview with Guitar Interactive, Mark Tremonti said he wants to bring back Creed’s original sound in their new record.
Reunions often come with pressure to make new music, and the guitarist is ready for it as he said, “I had a whole record on my hands for Creed before we parted ways in 2012… If we start over and just dove in again, we could do better.”
“I think it’d be good to try to get back to that original sound,” he added, expressing his wish to return to Creed’s original sound.
“It’s been something that people have been asking us for years about new music, so it’s just a matter of us getting back together be in the same room because it’s always a matter of timing for us,” Tremonti previously said in an April chat with Rock Feed.
The musician continued, “This cruise was 3 years in the making now so everything happened so quickly, it was so rapid fire, it was stuff that’s actually get music done for the surround of things but I’m sure the next time we get back out we’re going to have to have new music and everybody’s been asking for it.”
Scott Stapp also noted in February, “As of right now, there is no new music coming from Creed, but I can tell you that there’s definitely been some conversations where insinuations have been made that there may be something there.”
The frontman added, “I think the best thing to do right now is for the band to just kind of go through what we’re going through in terms of getting together and rocking out and playing these shows and connecting with you all and let the music come organically like it did in the early days of Creed — just come naturally, spontaneously, from a pure place of pure art and creativity. We don’t wanna force anything, and I think that’s how you get the best music out of the band.”
Creed’s North American tour continues throughout August in different cities. The band will also be on the road in the fall of 2024.
