This latest bit of news is no TV show or movie, and it’s downright chilling. Gabriel Olds, known for portraying Pat Robertson in 2021’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye and for his appearances on procedurals like NCIS franchise and SEAL Team, has found himself on the wrong side of the law. The crimes are particularly heinous, and the authorities are now asking for other victims and witnesses to come forward to help with the case.
Per Variety, Olds has been charged with seven felony sexual assault charges in Los Angeles that began with the rape of a 41-year-old woman back in January 2023. According to the charges, following this incident, two more victims were identified after filing their own reports, with some of them going as far back as 2013. The situations are similar, with the women describing consensual encounters “that descended into violent sexual assault.” Detectives investigating the case believe there are many more victims, and they are asking them to reach out, especially after two more women came forward to report lesser acts of violent sexual assault committed by Olds. Investigators believe that Olds used traveling for work to aid in committing his crimes.
Gabriel Olds Allegedly Used His Position as an Actor to Prey on Women
A $3.5 million warrant was issued for Olds by the L.A. Superior Court last month, which resulted in the actor’s arrest on August 7. Some of the women allege that Olds used his status as an actor to set up dates with them, while others say that they met him on various dating apps. What’s similar in almost every charge filed is that, according to law enforcement, “Each victim reported that Olds lured them into a false sense of security during their initial encounters, then turned violent without seeking their consent.” Detective Brent Hopkins elaborates by saying Olds used his charm to cover up his brutal nature.

“We heard the same story again and again. Mr. Olds started off charming, but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he’s off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard.”
Olds has been primarily associated with TV work, but he is likely best known for playing minister Pat Robertson in 2021’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the film that earned Jessica Chastain an Academy Award for playing the titular televangelist. Olds’ television credits run deep, however, with appearances on Law & Order, Party of Five, Charmed, Six Feet Under, Criminal Minds, SEAL Team, all the NCIS series, and many more.
