Vin Diesel has been teasing the upcoming production of Fast & Furious 11 – the maybe, possibly, might-not-be final movie of the Fast franchise. However, this time he seems to have dropped a huge hint that a character not seen in the franchise in over two decades could be making their way back for this latest installment. With Fast & Furious 11 currently scheduled for a 2026 release, Diesel’s latest Instagram post let everyone know that preproduction is well under way on the movie, and a long forgotten character could be about to put in a surprise appearance.
The Fast franchise is no stranger to bringing back characters from the past. Last year’s relatively disappointing Fast X saw the return of several familiar faces, such as Gal Gadot and, most shockingly, Dwayne Johnson – considering his well-documented historical beef with Diesel. Additionally, the movie’s flamboyant villain, Dante Reyes, came into the franchise as the son of Fast 5’s antagonist, Hernan Reyes.
In his latest post, Diesel has now suggested that he may be about to bring back someone from even further back in the franchise’s long history, in the form of Suki, played by Devon Aoki in 2 Fast 2 Furious – a movie that was mostly notable for not featuring Diesel’s Dom Toretto. The image shared by the star shows him hugging Aoki, and is captioned:
One of my favorite pics of 2024. T]wo decades for this moment…as we are in preproduction for the Fast finale, Pablo sent a message, Suki.
Of course, there could be many reasons for the reunion, but the fact that Diesel specifically mentions being in preproduction on the new film leans into the prospect of the character being one of the many old faces returning for this supposed last ride.
Fast & Furious 11 is Heading Back to Basics
While it is yet to be seen whether Suki does make an appearance in Fast & Furious 11, her possible involvement does tie into previous reports that this final movie is looking to take things back to the roots of the franchise. Fast X reportedly had an astronomical budget in excess of $300 million, due to a combination of its huge A-List cast, delayed production, and over-the-top stunts. This time around, it seems that things are going to be getting back to the street-racing level of the original movies, before the series became Mission: Impossible in Cars.

Several speculative “insider” reports claimed that the budget of the new movie will be looking to come in under $200 million, a huge downsizing from its predecessor, and that has led to the apparent dismissal of Momoa’s villain, and possibly trimmed down cast list compared to the sprawling list of names that have appeared in several other movies in the franchise. Diesel himself called the movie “an American road trip” in a previous social media post that also teased some concept art for the upcoming sequel. For now, though, fans are left speculating on exactly Fast 11 will bring to the table, and where it will lead the franchise next.
