Skibidi Toilet may be something many people are not familiar with, but it is guaranteed your kids will be. That is probably why the bizarre viral sensation is now poised to become not only a TV show, but potentially a movie franchise as well, with none other than Michael Bay and former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman involved in its development.
The Skibidi franchise – such as it currently is – began life as a very short and destined to be forgotten video uploaded to the YouTube channel, DaFuq!?Boom! in February 2023. In that video, an animated head is seen emerging from a toilet bowl…and it is singing. Of course, that is exactly the kind of thing that attracts attention on social media these days – completely incomprehensible, very short and unfortunately unforgettable. The growing collection of “Skibidi” videos now stands at more than 70 shorts, which has some developed its own vague storyline of Skibidi Toilets battling evil cyborgs – and it seems this is where Michael Bay comes in.

Hawk Tuah Girl Hailey Welch Close to Signing Reality TV Deal Following Viral Video
The internet’s newest sensation, Hailey Welch, is parlaying her fame into big bucks, but isn’t taking anything for granted along the way.
The videos themselves do not contain dialogue, but do include plenty of action, explosions, and violence, which means they have been able to find an audience around the globe regardless of language. According to his appearance on Variety’s Strictly Business podcast, Goodman explained that there have certainly been talks about bringing the phenomenon to a whole new audience, but also seemed to suggest that if it doesn’t happen, no one is going to cry about it. He said:
“We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side, but it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.”
How Has Skibidi Toilet Turned Viral Trash into Digital Gold?
The world has a very short attention span right now, and platforms like TikTok – which was then copied by the likes of YouTube when they realized they were missing out – have brought a never-ending stream of micro entertainment into the lives of billions of users. Whether it is a dance craze, lip-sync, or simply someone rolling their eyes in time to music, there are ridiculous amounts of money to be made from as little as 7 seconds of video footage.
Skibidi Toilet fits right into this format. It is nonsensical, lasts for seconds, and is quite hard to erase from your memory once it is seen. It has also somehow grown into an apocalyptic battle for supremacy in its later additions. Thanks to the kings of algorithms, this also means that from an initial burst of interest, the video has been promoted more than Deadpool & Wolverine, and pushed in front of the eyes of even more people like a visual virus that everyone just has to catch.

Viral Horror Movie Skinamarink Scares Up Huge $890,000 Opening Weekend Box Office
Skinamarink, the eerie micro-budget horror movie sensation, has made back 60 times its budget on its opening four-day weekend.
With that kind of ingrained presence in the public conscious, it is easy to understand why Goodman and Bay would be interested in making their own chunk of change from the sensation while it is still hot. The tactic has worked for many people in the last five years in particular, with TikTok giving birth to new “stars” overnight, and it seems that if things pan out as planned, we can expect to see Skibidi Toilet flushing through cinemas and streaming channels for a long time to come.
