Actress scored her second Emmy nomination for playing Princess Diana. Reacting to her nomination, she told , “I miss playing that part. I miss the people, and I knew that would inevitably happen, but the kind of work that we as actors and heads of department got asked to do, the bar we were asked to meet, and the complexity of the work was just so beautifully satisfying to do, and to try and meet the challenge of that show and its legacy and of all the incredible performances that came before.”
She added that the reaction to her portrayal of Princess Diana has been “moving.” Debicki said, “I realized that the work that we have done in this show brings people really close to their own memories, and that’s a really unique kind of thing to feel a part of and also be witness to… I’ve had people be quite emotional, and then usually it ends with someone saying, ‘Can I give you a hug?’ It’s really beautiful and quite moving.”
earned a total of 18 nominations—including for Best Drama, and acting nods for , , , , and Debicki. Over its six seasons, the show has racked up 87 Emmy nominations and 21 wins.
Pryce, reacting to his nod for , said, “I am very proud of the hard work and integrity of everyone involved in the making of The Crown. I particularly enjoyed revealing the many positive aspects of Prince Phillip’s character that were previously unknown to a global audience. It was a privilege to play him and it is a privilege to be nominated by my peers. Thank you.”
