Wearing designs by the house’s Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the trio appear in the fall/winter campaign that is all about the art of conversation.
Prada is ready to start the conversation.
The luxury house has cast Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Yili Ma, Hunter Schafer and Letitia Wright in its latest campaign for women’s and men’s fall/winter, and the inspiration centers on “the notion of conversing” and “the exchange of ideas.”
The actors — all Prada ambassadors — are photographed by Willy Vanderperre while they play off one another, both face-to-face and on the phone, leaning on a script by filmmaker and artist Miranda July who has long made a career out of the exploration of ideas and the way in which people interact with one another. Her credits include Me and You and Everyone We Know, The Future and Kajillionaire.
Under the creative direction of Ferdinando Verderi, the campaign includes still photographs as well as short films directed by Oscar-nominated documentarian Garrett Bradley (Time). In addition to writing the script, July pops up in a voiceover role on the other side of the telephone in parts though sometimes the conversations are “tantalizingly out of reach,” per Prada as a way to allow viewers to imagine the full context.
In one image, Idris is outfitted in black pants and a black sweater with a white belt while speaking into the handset of a mint green phone. Opposite him, Dickinson holds a black Prada backpack while wearing a long coat and tie and speaking into a beige telephone. The actresses are featured similarly in conversation in a selection of fall and winter pieces while carrying on their own conversations, seen here.
Dickinson was most recently seen in The Iron Claw and A Murder at the End of the World. Schafer, a breakout from Euphoria, had a supporting role in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed Kinds of Kindness. Idris, best known for Snowfall, will appear opposite Brad Pitt, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem in F1. Chinese actress Yili Ma is known for Blossoms Shanghai, To the Wonder, B for Busy, The First Half of My Life, Lost, Found and Struggle.
