The streaming giant Netflix has now gotten its hands on several major AMC titles, including Interview with the Vampire and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, as part of a new deal between the streaming platform and the popular network. As per a report by Netflix Tudum, audiences will “be able to devour” the Anne Rice adaptation “along with a dozen more AMC shows” starting from next month.
The “dozen more” shows in question include some of the biggest hits on the network, such as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1, Fear the Walking Dead seasons 1-8, Gangs of London seasons 1 and 2, Into the Badlands seasons 1-3, Kevin can F*** Himself seasons 1 and 2, Preacher seasons 1-4, That Dirty Black Bag season 1, and The Terror season 1, as well as Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches season 1, Monsieur Spade season 1, A Discovery of Witches seasons 1-3, and Dark Winds seasons 1 and 2. All of which are due to hit Netflix in the US for 12 months from August 19.
If that were not already enough Netflix-meets-AMC excitement, audiences can delve further into the world of the undead as The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live season 1 are also set to land on the streamer from Jan. 13, 2025.
This is not the first time that AMC has joined forces with a streamer, with the network hoping to once again take advantage of the huge viewership potential that comes with teaming up with a platform like Netflix. The last time such a partnership occurred, AMC dropped Fear the Walking Dead and six other shows on Max, a move which sources have said “drove traffic back to AMC’s platforms,” via Variety.
“This agreement puts our high-quality shows in front of the vast audience of Netflix subscribers with the AMC brand clearly represented. These curated titles are also being strategically windowed to drive interest in current and upcoming seasons on our direct-to-consumer and partner platforms,” said Kristin Dolan, CEO of AMC Networks, in a statement. “We believe this significant expansion of our Netflix relationship will drive viewership and engagement on Netflix, while also raising awareness and interest in our award-winning content on AMC-branded and partner platforms across our distribution ecosystem.”
