Season 2, based on
Bad Luck and Trouble,
didn’t quite match Season 1’s success, but still offers an exciting adventure with Alan Ritchson. - Season 2 will be available on September 17 in Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD options, continuing the thrilling adventures of Jack Reacher.

Reacher
Season 3, based on
Persuader,
will see Jack going undercover for the DEA, facing surprises from his past and a new dangerous adversary.
The second season of Reacher, based on the eleventh book in Lee Child’s series, Bad Luck and Trouble, wasn’t quite the smash with fans and critics that the first season was. Despite the drop in audience love, the still-exciting sophomore beat-em-up adventure certainly has its merits, including a still-game performance from Alan Ritchson as the title character. According to Collider, come September 17, hardcore Jack Reacher fans will be able to add Season 2 to their shelves.
Like the first season, Season 2 will hit both Blu-ray and DVD on the same day. And, also like the first season, the Blu-ray will not be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. And, for those who want to spring for even more visual clarity than Blu can provide, it will be available on 4K UHD, though only as a manufactured-on-demand option (not unlike the DVDs of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s later seasons).
What Is Reacher Season 2 About?
The Amazon Prime Video hit’s second year has the title character reuniting with the 110th MP Special Investigations unit, a team he himself organized. Things kick off when Reacher’s closest friend (who he still only sees once in a blue moon), Frances Neagley, sends him a coded message indicating the members of the 110th are being picked off one by one. Reacher collects those who remain, Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan), and David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos) to get to the bottom of it.
But, while unraveling the depths of what turns out to be a major conspiracy that started back in their on-the-books investigative days, other unfinished business from the past rears its ugly head. And, in the case of Reacher and Dixon finally connecting romantically, less ugly and more beautiful. Though, while Reacher and Dixon are getting closer, the remaining four members of the 110th come to believe that one of their former allies is now and perhaps always has been an adversary.

Season 2 has received a decidedly mixed response in comparison to the debut season. But, Killing Floor, the first Reacher novel and basis of Season 1, was certainly a more easily adaptable, dog-on-the-hunt revenge tale than the flashback-fueled conspiracy thriller that is Bad Luck and Trouble. The third season looks to skew a bit more Season 1 than Season 2, as it’s based on Persuader. What’s that book about? Reacher works unofficially with the DEA to go undercover in a drug kingpin’s operation. But, surprises await him as it’s revealed the kingpin isn’t in the drug game, and a man from Reacher’s past is involved. And he’s even bigger than the hulking hero.
