Wolfgang Van Halen sat down with Times Reporter for an interview and shared who he has on his radar for his band’s next tour.
Mammoth WVH has opened for Guns N’ Roses and Metallica, and they are touring with Creed later this year. In the interview, the rocker shared his dream to open for AC/DC and named the one band that left him speechless when they invited Mammoth WVH to open for them:
“With the insane amount of people we’ve opened for, Foo Fighters was certainly one of the dream ‘holy crap’ moments. And the fact that is happening is ridiculous. I think one more band maybe I’d think of would probably be AC/DC. They’ve been a special band for me, and especially for me and my father. We listened to them all the time. AC/DC, I guess, would be that… crazy dream, like holy crap. That’d be insane.”
Opening For Metallica Is ‘Honoring’
Mammoth WVH opened for Metallica’s ‘M72’ world tour. In another interview with Tell Us Rock, Wolfgang Van Halen, talked about the ‘crazy’ experience of opening for Metallica. He said:
“It’s so wonderful to be a part of again there’s that whole, ‘Wow, Metallica finds value in what I do on my own to want me to have to open their show,’ which is an incredible honor. They’re all so wonderful, they’re so kind, everybody on the on the crew is so wonderful. Even at [the Download Festival], which was two days ago, Lars was sidestage watching us and I couldn’t believe it man. They are very wonderful, it’s a huge honor to be a part of. I can’t believe it.”
In addition to opening with Metallica, the Mammoth singer took to the stage with Slash to perform AC/DC’s ‘Highway to Hell.’ So who knows? Wolfgang might really open for AC/DC one day.
