Nikki Sixx recently deleted his X account and left followers without any word on why he chose to do so.
Sixx was previously quite active on X to share updates about his career and hold Q&A sessions with fans. So, the reason behind his sudden departure from the platform is unclear, especially since his Instagram is still on use.
While there’s no official word from the Mötley Crüe bassist yet, the decision might be related to the negative reactions his posts received on X.
The Bassist Is Tired Of Negativity
Sixx told the Swedish radio station ‘Rockklassiker’ last week that he was tired of dealing with Mötley Crüe drama. He recalled the backlash they received for jokingly saying their new music was a mix of country and hip-hop, saying:
“People just love negativity. And I find it interesting. I don’t wanna play in to it, to be honest with you, but that was a fun one… People run with whatever they think they can get some juice out of, and it’s okay. Hey, if you’re talking about our band, that’s a good thing, negative or positive.”
The bassist shut down his X account in 2016, as well, to focus more on his music and ‘get back to what’s real in my life.’ He came back to the platform a year later.
