Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack has recently defended TX2 against the bullying he received.
The singer took to X to state that he doesn’t ‘condone that sh*t’ in any way possible. He wrote:
“I’ve seen my name used a lot as a way to make fun of this TX2 guy and while I don’t know his music I want to say I don’t condone that sh*t at all. When BVB first got popular our peers in your favorite bands said sh*t like they wished I’d break my neck instead of my ribs or they would prefer to get shot in the foot instead of listening to us.”
He also remembered experiencing what TX2 is going through now and said he doesn’t want to put someone else through the same thing:
“I was a teenager and adults in bands thought it was OK to shit on me because that was the acceptable take within the scene. I am not interested in being a part of the degradation of another artist simply because it’s ‘cool’ to dunk on them. All I know about TX2 is that I saw him watching us at a fest a few weeks ago and he seemed to be a fan of what we do and for that I appreciate him. We are not the arbiters of anyone else’s taste.”
TX2’s Response To Biersack
Biersack’s response to the hate comments reached to TX2 himself. The singer took to the platform to thank his ‘hero’ for defending him. He replied:
“Hey man this really made my day, I have looked up to you since I was a kid. Seeing your hero defend you on social media is the craziest feeling. I won’t forget this thank you.”
In another tweet, TX2 separately responded to the BVB singer’s statement. He mentioned seeing Biersack as a role model and added:
“I didn’t have a role model growing up, I came from a broken family. All I had was bands. Today one of my heroes Andy Biersack and a role model I had growing up stood up for me. I will never forget that. Thanks man.”
Biersack Received Negative Comments
Although Biersack got some heartfelt comments for standing up for another artist, he also received many negative comments. BVB fans got upset with the singer for defending someone who ‘bullied’ others. One user wrote:
“I get not wanting your name involved in hate towards him, but I also wouldn’t defend the guy who told a 19 year old to kill themselves in one of his songs for making a TikTok about not liking his music.”
Another wrote:
“You’re right and it sucks your name is being used that way but this guy is genuinely not very nice and has done some not very nice things.”
However, one person likened it to BVB’s early days when they too faced a lot of criticism for being different from other bands at that time:
“Well said Andy. I love TX2 he has some good music and he is hated for no reason but I feel like in that regard they are similar to BVB getting made fun of by the community which is unacceptable, they will be big one day.”
Biersack hasn’t responded to any of the replies.
