The set of Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman and Joey King’s new rom-com, seemed to be filled with jokes and laughter.
In honor of the film premiering on Netflix June 28, Efron shared a behind-the-scenes video that showed how much fun the trio had making the movie.
He uploaded the video to that revealed how King nailed the hilarious scene in the movie when she walks in on Kidman’s character, her mom, and Efron’s character, her boss, sharing an intimate moment.
King barges into the room, spots the pair, starts choking, screams and runs straight into the door frame. As she pretends to hit her head and fall to the floor, Efron turns the camera to face himself and bursts into laughter. “Let’s go!” he says as Kidman also giggles.
“That’s my girl,” Kidman praises and gives a thumbs-up to the camera.
After the director yells cut, King walks over to the pair and joins in on the laughing session. “Oh my gosh!” she says.
Efron compliments her and adds, “That was so good,” before the clip ends.
Although Efron portrays King’s egotistical and irksome boss in the flick, it appears the two were close friends when the cameras stopped rolling.
They gushed about their friendship in a recent interview with Canadian outlet Etalk, with King revealing that she has admired Efron for a long time.
In a snippet from their sit-down uploaded to , the Etalk reporter brings up a video from years ago of King and Sabrina Carpenter re-enacting a song from “High School Musical,” the film that made Efron a household name.
King says she doesn’t remember the clip while Efron says he’s eager to see it.
King adds, “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: obsessed is an understatement. Zac was my, like, everything when I was younger, and you still are, Zac.”
“Aww,” he sweetly responds as she continues to compliment him.
“There’s so many moments that are pinch me over the years and this is definitely one of them,” she says, before playfully adding, “And I never want to work with you again.”
The two started laughing and Efron jokes, “Now that’s over.”
“No I literally, like, love Zac so much,” King gushes. “From the time I was young and then being able to be in something with him, where we’re playing this hilarious dynamic, and we really get to work with each other so much, was just a dream come true.
She then turned to him and adds, “And you’re the best. You lived up to the hype, man!”
