Rikki Rockett has recently shared details about the Poison tour plans. The drummer took to Facebook to let his fans know about the tour and what it would include. Apparently, it won’t be including any backing tracks. He wrote:
“Poison will be touring in 2025. As usual, there will be no backing tracks. Live, raw and uncut. Warts and all.”
Bret Michaels’ Tour Plans
In February this year, Bret Michaels also shared some details about the tour and even mentioned a date he had in mind. When asked if he plans to tour with Poison again during a chat with SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, he said:
“One million percent. I was grateful to be out there again. With Mötley [Crüe] and [Def] Leppard and to be out there with Joan [Jett], I one thousand percent see that [kind of thing happening again].”
He added:
“I think in 2025, 2026, one million percent. We’re gonna bring all the Poison greatest-hits reunion and make it part of what ‘Parti-Gras’ is. We’ll make it the Poison reunion ‘Parti-Gras’ and bring a lot of great bands and just, without a doubt, unleash all those Poison greatest hits.”
Why Poison Haven’t Released Any New Music In So Long
Poison released their last album more than 15 years ago. The rockers dropped ‘Poison’d!’ back in 2007 and haven’t put out an album ever since.
In a 2017 interview, Rikki Rocket admitted that one reason the band hasn’t felt motivated to create new music is because fans usually aren’t keen on hearing new songs performed live when classic rock bands go on tour:
“We could write the second coming of ‘Talk Dirty To Me’, and I don’t know if people wanna hear it or not, and that’s a frustrating thing; it really is. Aerosmith was able to do it, but not everybody is. I mean, even The Rolling Stones have had problems with that in the last few years. So… I don’t know. But I do think it’s important to stay viable. For the ‘über fans,’ it’s always a really, really good thing. And that’s what you do it for — you do it for you, you do it for the real fans, the real true fans.”
