The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney recently revealed that they got ‘f*cked.’ This came right in the middle of the tour fiasco.
Carney took to X to admit that the band messed up but didn’t reveal how they did so. He wrote he would be sharing updates about it soon:
“We got f*cked. I’ll let you all know how so it doesn’t happen to you. Stay tuned.”
The Black Keys Split Up With Management Team
In May, all the scheduled dates were suddenly canceled without any proper explanation. After their cancellation, The Black Keys parted ways with their management team.
The news first came from Billboard. According to the source, the band has split from their managers, Irving Azoff and Steve Moir of Full Stop Management.
Why The Cancelation?
Last month, the duo canceled their US arena shows. They were supposed to start their tour in Tulsa on September 17, after finishing a European tour. However, all the dates were removed from their website and Ticketmaster over the weekend. On May 26, they finally explained the situation saying that they were alive and well, and they just wanted to move to a venue where fans could have an ‘intimate experience.’
Fans figured out that this was a lie, though. Before the official announcements, fans on Reddit guessed that the tour wasn’t selling well. Someone also found out that the tour was called off before the band even said anything. They said a fan page owner on Instagram talked to a crew member before and said Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney were fine, so the cancelation wasn’t because of health issues.
It looks like the duo is downsizing to smaller venues due to poor ticket sales. The Black Keys hasn’t responded to these guesses and comments yet.
