Kyra Sedgwick’s Tribeca Film Festival look was close to her heart.
At the Monday, June 10 premiere of her new movie Bad Shabbos, the 58-year-old actress appeared in a black pinstripe suit, lacy white camisole and one very special accessory — a necklace her mother gave her containing a photo of her great-great-grandmother.
“This is an old Dolce & Gabbana suit that I’ve had forever,” Sedgwick told PEOPLE on the red carpet. “This is also an old camisole and this is a beautiful old necklace that my mom gave me. And there’s actually a picture of my great-great-grandmother and me and my older brother.”
With her suit jacket buttoned, the necklace looks like a simple gold chain but when chatting with PEOPLE, the actress showed off the bottom of the jewelry piece, where an oval-shaped locket contains photos of her family members inside.
On the red carpet, Sedgwick also revealed that she would not be returning to Netflix’s The Summer I Turned Pretty for season 3. She joined the cast in in season 2 as Aunt Julia, mom to Skye (Elsie Fisher) and aunt to Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
The Closer star recently revisited some of her past fashion moments on the Wednesday, May 1 episode of Watch What Happens Live. In a game of “Versace or Hibachi” (where the participant has to choose to keep the outfit by saying “Versace” or set them on fire in a “Hibachi”), Sedgwick is presented with her look from the 1997 Golden Globes — a white tank top paired with silver, shiny pants and a shiny pastel blue jacket in pastel blue. She accessorized with layered pearl necklaces.

“That was my coming out party when Joan Rivers was like, ‘Oh my god. That was the worst outfit,’ “ the actress recalled on the show. “I know the designer, but I’ll spare her.”
“Will you torch it though?” host Andy Cohen asked, to which she responded, “Torch that!”
Cohen also brought up Sedgwick’s outfit from the 1993 Academy Awards. She wore a cream-colored satin top with a long black skirt and matching black shoes, completing the look with a portrait necklace, diamond bracelet and a small golden clutch.

“Someone invited me to the Oscars and then left me,” the star shared. “Well, he won and then left me for the rest of the night. “So, I would like to torch that.”
When Cohen asked if it was a date, Sedgwick said, “No, it was a ‘friend,’” while making air quotes with her fingers.
