You may have seen that Anthrax covered a Ratt song. The band’s singer Stephen Pearcy has recently reacted to the cover and even sent an offer to Anthrax.
The rocker took to X to share his thoughts about the cover of ‘Round And Round.’ He shared the snippet of the cover and offered to sing the same song with the band:
“Way cool Anthrax does ‘Round and Round.’ I’d be happy to sing with the band doing that song. Let’s go gentlemen.”
How ‘Round And Round’ Was Recorded
‘Round And Round’ came out back in 1984 and took place in the band’s debut album ‘Out of the Cellar.’ Even though it turned out to be a hit, it didn’t take too long to come up with.
In an interview, Warren DeMartini broke down exactly how he, Pearcy, and Robbin Crosby put together what ended up being the band’s huge hit:
“Late 1982 I came up with the chorus, verse, and solo section while living at Jake E. Lee’s house in the city of Van Nuys, I rented the couch. Ratt had a solid set of originals when I joined, so most of the rehearsal time was spent on getting those songs tight. Jake and I would stay up til all hours playing guitar. I was working on riffs and parts that would be ‘Round and Round,’ ‘The Morning After,’ and ‘You’re in Trouble,’ and Jake was working on parts to ‘Bark at the Moon,’ ‘Rock N’ Roll Rebel’ and ‘Waiting for Darkness’ (for Ozzy Osbourne’s 1983 album by the same name).”
He explained how it eventually took form:
“Months later at Ratt Mansion West the first arrangement to ‘Round and Round’ took form: Robbin, Stephen, and me sitting in a circle with a couple of cassette recorders. We’d form an arrangement, record it, and play it with the other cassette recording while trying lyric and double-lead ideas. Like ‘Wanted Man,’ [‘Round and Round’ was] complete in one afternoon.”
