Vera Wang never fails to leave jaws on the red carpet.
The fashion designer, 74, stepped out to the 2024 Fragrance Foundation Awards on Wednesday, June 5 in a dramatic yellow-green gown that was so bright she needed shades — literally. Wang struck a pose in the mermaid-style gown, which featured a plunging neckline (she mitigated the revealing silhouette by adding a black bandeau top) and feathered train.
For even more drama, the designer added a pair of black oversize sunglasses, her only accessory except for a simple black watch. Her hair was sleek and shiny in its usual long, straight style.
Inside the event, Wang removed her sunglasses and posed with fellow fashion designer Anna Sui and designer Nina García.
Other attendees included Julianna Margulies, Christie Brinkley and Lucy Hale.

Wang is known for her bold, glamorous style and recently kicked off summer with a bridal-inspired swimwear look.
In an Instagram post shared on May 27, the designer poses in a white square-neck one-piece swimsuit with spaghetti straps. She’s also decked out in plenty of bling, including statement drop earrings that hang down to her collarbones, a sparkly cuff bracelet and bejeweled sandals.
Naturally, Wang also added a pair of oversize sunglasses from Vera Wang Eyewear.
“My Slim Aarons moment,” Wang wrote in the post’s caption, referencing the photographer who was known for his poolside images. “Happy Summer!” she added.
The designer debuted another age-defying look in February 2024 at the 2024 BAFTA Gala at the Peninsula Hotel in London, a fundraising event that supports the organization’s efforts to find and support new talent.
Wang wore a white gown that featured a draped bodice and dramatic statement hood. She accessorized with a pair of detached black sleeves, creating a chic black-and-white look.

The bridal designer and mom of two will ring in her 75th birthday on June 27 and PEOPLE recently caught up with her about her plans for the celebration.
“Birthday plans are up in the air. I mean 75 is a lot of pressure,” she told PEOPLE backstage at the Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala on April 8. However, Wang was able to cinfirm there will definitely be birthday cake (“We’re cake people, as you can tell,” she says of her family’s favorite dessert).
When it comes to her view on aging, Wang said she plans to “keep prodding on.”
“I think maybe a little bit like Warren Buffett [age 93] or Queen Elizabeth II [who reigned the British monarchy for seven decades until she was 96], I’m just going to keep prodding on because I feel as though I’m able to do my best work more and more,” she said. “I’m really trying to respect that in me, that voice in me, that I feel very happy to be creating. That’s what it’s all about, really.”
