On Friday, May 24, the Grammy-winning rocker — who dropped his the same day — celebrated turning 60 with a star-studded birthday and record release party held at the iconic Hôtel de Crillon.
According to a source, Kravitz (whose birthday is May 26) kicked off the festivities with dinner followed by an after party, where DJ Ruckus spun tunes as guests danced the night away.
The icon had a “joyous evening surrounded by his closest family and friends,” says the source, adding that speeches paid tribute to his late mom, .

Loved ones in attendance included the , their daughter Zoë Kravitz ( is currently on location shooting a movie), Naomi Campbell, François-Henri Pinault, Pauletta Washington and her son John David, Chris Rock, Laurence Fishburne, Colman Domingo and Marisa Tomei.
The star also had an extra-special guest in attendance, according to the source: his fourth grade teacher Mrs. Goldberg, who traveled to Paris from New York to join in the festivities.
Earlier this year, Kravitz sat down with cover, in which he reflected on his barrier-breaking career.
“It’s sort of amazing to me that I could be where I am now and feel fresh and hungry,” he said of staying inspired.
Weeks later he was on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where Zoë and his longtime friend Denzel Washington (who is also currently on location shooting a film) speeches about the musician.
