Anne Hathaway’s style streak continues — and her latest look proves once again why she’s fashion’s “It girl.”
As the Oscar-winning actress, 41, stepped out to attend an event hosted by the jewelry giant Bulgari in Rome, Italy, she sported a custom-designed gown designed by Zac Posen — who’s now serving as Gap’s creative director and executive vice president.
According to a press release shared by Gap, the white, 100% cotton gown takes inspiration from the brand’s classic button down, using it as “a blank canvas to express one’s style and creativity.”

The dress, which Hathaway’s celebrity stylist Erin Walsh paired with tons of Bulgari bling, features a wide collar, and one off-the-shoulder strap. It grazes the floor and features buttons similar to the classic shirt, with a few left open at the top to show off Hathaway’s semi-sheer corset underneath, and a few open at the bottom to reveal a pair of custom matching pleated shorts, also designed by Gap.
According to the press release, Posen — who previously designed for his own brand and Brooks Brothers, among others — aimed to mimic the construction of a Gap shirt’s collar and placket with the dress, “but [added] a feminine twist with darting at the waist and a coordinating corset.”
Hathaway wore he hair in a swept back down style. She also sported a glamorous makeup look, with a pink lip, a brown, soft smoky eye and some blush to bring it all together.
“It’s a modern look, inspired by the iconic Audrey Hepburn film, Roman Holiday,” the release adds.

Per Gap, the dress was made custom for the Idea of You star, but the company will also be offering
a version on gap.com.
Just last month, Hathaway also stepped out in style at the Idea of You premiere at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. The rom-com leading lady was radiant on the red carpet in, form-Versace fitting gown.
The head-turning outfit featured a structured bandeau dress with cutouts just under her bust line. The gown used paneling along the sides and middle in both the front and back to give the design added depth, and she paired the look with silver jewelry — a pair of silver drop earrings with green jewels, and rings on both hands.
