The stalker who threatened Nikki Sixx and his family is now in jail, but the bassist still has concerns about the workings of the legal system.
Sixx dealt with two stalkers sending his family life-threatening messages over the past year. He secured a financial win against one in February, and recently announced on Instagram that the second stalker has been arrested:
“Stalker one from Tennessee has been arrested (again) for breaking the restraining order (again) and is also being charged with resisting arrest. Been a hard month. Happy to be home with my family. Thank you to my legal team and the court system.”
The Artist Thinks It Took Too Long
The Mötley Crüe bassist detailed his experience in the caption and criticized the laws for not being enough to hold the stalker back:
“You know as happy as we are that the legal system finally worked for us but the real question is why did it take so long? How many people in this situation could’ve been hurt or worse? What about all the restraining orders that look like a slap on the hand to these stalkers and then violent acts or worse are carried out in cases of domestic violence alone?”
He noted:
“Our lawyers and even the judge were diligent, but the fact is laws should be looked at to protect innocent hotspots and stronger laws to help around mental illness. This woman was ordered to get mental help and just didn’t do it and then slipped through the cracks. She also has a weapon and has been allowed to keep it even after threatening our family with acts of violence. The fact that this went on so long could’ve ended in tragedy.”
Sixx also shared the hard time the stalker put the police through and added:
“After claiming nobody would take her alive the sheriffs had to kick in her door. I don’t wanna see our law enforcement be put in these dangerous situations because the laws could be stronger. This has been going on for years. Obviously, we feel safe that she is again behind bars. We hope it ends now.”
The Stalkers And Their Threats Against The Sixx Family
Nikki Sixx reported receiving threats from the female stalker from Tennessee in 2023. He noted that they never met the woman who was implying explicit harm to his child and wife.
The bassist updated fans in November that year:
“New video surveillance footage of stalkers is now being turned over to law enforcement agencies. Considering so many contempt of court counts during these restraining orders we are pushing for maximum jail time to protect our family.”
The FBI started investigating the Tennessee woman. Meanwhile, Sixx revealed a second stalker from a different region. He wrote on Instagram:
“Now, another stalker from a different part of the country started doing the same thing, going so far as to travel to my house and threaten our lives again. The FBI is currently investigating. It’s one thing to threaten my safety, but when it comes to serious threats against my wife and children, it just becomes beyond alarming.”
The Bassist Wanted Extra Caution
The artist criticized Meta for not having enough safety measures against the ‘inexcusable’ threats in following posts. He addressed the ‘irresponsibility’ of the platform as follows:
“Judges will rule in a few weeks on both stalker jail times. We have empathy for mental illness but the courtroom is no place for leniency when it comes to protecting your family. Meta has proven to be completely irresponsible and seems more concerned with liability than safety.”
Sixx repeated his unease with Meta’s policy a week later:
“Does anybody else feel Meta should be liable for allowing stalkers to harass my (any) family by using their platform and not policing it, leaving it up online for browsing even after death threats? Who does the responsibility fall on if something happened beyond emotional assault?”
