The Boys returns this June for its fourth season on Amazon Prime Video. The hilarious, brutal, often gross parody of superheroes and American culture is one of the best satires out there, and one of my favorite superhero series along with Invincible.
Well, here’s some good news for fans of the show eagerly awaiting the fourth season. Series creator, Eric Kripke, tweeted: “As of today, #TheBoys #Season4 is completely, totally, absolutely DONE. I’m really grateful & so proud of this cast & crew. Could be our best yet. Can’t wait to unleash it onto the world. Coming June 13 on @PrimeVideo.”
We haven’t had a new season of The Boys since 2022, which aired from June 3rd to July 8th on Prime Video, and ended on something of a cliffhanger. Season 3 was quite good, especially everything to do with Black Noir and Soldier Boy. But it was Homelander, as usual, who stopped us all in our tracks.
We did get the chronological spinoff Gen V between seasons, and it was mostly a very entertaining show, very much in keeping with The Boys, and even continuing some of the storylines found in the main show. I recommend you give it a watch before Season 4 airs. The ending felt a bit off, but otherwise it’s well worth your time. (Sadly, Gen V is now on hold after the tragic death of one of its stars).
In any case, the season is done. Wrapped. Ready to stream onto our TVs and PCs and phones in just about two months. House Of The Dragon also begins airing its second season in June, though the Jon Snow spinoff is now dead.
