The couple confirmed they are engaged at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles Sunday, Nov. 17. The 43-year-old actor showed off her engagement ring while posing on the red carpet. She later revealed to that they had “two proposals.”
“We did two proposals,” Good shared. “We’re going to keep it to ourselves, but it was very — I was very shocked, and it was wonderful. And I was like, ‘Wait, are you serious, babe?’”
Good said there was a second proposal “some months later.”
Majors, 35, added that he doesn’t “do anything by half,” when asked about the double proposal.
He said that the event was extra special for them because they “met here two years ago.”
“Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathroom, in the unisex bathroom,” Good explained.
The couple was in May 2023. They started dating months after Majors was arrested on domestic violence charges.
Good, who was previously married to producer from 2012 to 2022, was by Majors’ side during his trial where he faced assault and harassment charges related to a between him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The “Creed III” actor, who denied all allegations against him, did not testify at the trial. On Dec. 18, 2023, he was misdemeanor assault and harassment. In April of this year, the former Marvel actor was , given probation and required to pay a $250 fine, according to NBC News.
In July, Good opened up about her relationship with Majors during a appearance.
“The support we’ve been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness, it’s been really wonderful,” the “Divorce in the Black” star said.
Good said that although she had “every friend” advising her during Majors’ trial to wait to get into a relationship with him, she doesn’t like to make choices based on “what someone else is saying.”
“I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life. I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did,” she said. “So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. I also want to live the life that I want to live.”
