Ozzy Osbourne recently launched a T-shirt line to support an initiative against trophy hunting.
The design featured a large image of a male-lion inside a red circle with a diagonal line, alongside the words ‘Ozzy Says No To Trophy Hunting’ and went on sale at CampaignToBanTrophyHuntingStore.com.
A statement from Osbourne discussing his views on trophy hunting and his reasons for starting this campaign accompanied the launch (via Blabbermouth).
“Trophy hunters are totally crazy,” the singer said. “You’ve got to be barking to kill an innocent animal and then take photos of yourself laughing about it. We’ve all got to do our bit. I like to design things, so I’ve done a T-shirt for the campaign to ban trophy hunting.”
“The [U.K.] government said it would ban hunting trophies, so get on with it! Tell your MP [Member of Parliament] you want it banned right now! Get yourself an Ozzy T-shirt for Christmas and help save the animals!”
The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting focuses on stopping the killing of endangered wildlife for sport and pleasure. It pushes for international bans on trophy hunting and the trading of hunting trophies.
The movement also works to ensure the strict enforcement of anti-trophy hunting laws and advocates for heavy punishments for those who break them. A petition urging U.K. Parliament members to do so currently goes on.
Support for the Campaign includes other well-known figures such as Queen’s Brian May, Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher of Oasis, Jane Goodall, Dame Judi Dench, Eric Idle, Ricky Gervais, Joanna Lumley, and Brian Cox.
