Jenn Tran is adjusting to a new normal after her stint on Dancing With the Stars season 33.
“Get ready with me and let’s talk about life after Dancing With the Stars,” Tran, 26, began in a Saturday, November 16, TikTok. “OK, I was having a little bit of a midlife crisis for a hot second after I was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. But now, we’re back and I finally found a will to live again.”
She continued, “Honestly I’m not going to lie. I was maybe being dramatic slash I really just loved being on the show so much, so it was really hard to go from literally dancing every day all the time to suddenly the next day not dancing.”
Tran equated the experience to “going through a breakup.” She added, “I felt like I broke up with dancing and I didn’t know if it was going to take me back or not. It is kind of like breaking up with somebody because you’re in constant contact with them every day, and then the next day you’re not. Immediately ghost. Nothing. Dancing ghosted with me.”
Tran noted that her journey with dance has not come to an end. “I’ve decided that I’m gonna continue dance classes. And yes, right now, Sasha [Farber] is teaching me dance here and there. Little TikTok videos, little tidbits.”
She continued, “I’m honestly thinking of taking dance lessons on my own, too. I used to think was kind of weird, but now I’m like, you know what, I don’t care what anybody thinks, I’m just going to do it.”

Tran said she wasn’t sure if there are adult dance classes or which type of style she would prefer to study, but noted that she’s “really excited” for the experience.
“I think before when I was in my denial, anger, bargaining phase of getting off of Dancing With the Stars, everyone’s telling me, ‘It’s fine. You can still take dancing classes,’” she said. “And I’m like, ‘Well, what for? What am I dancing for? Like, what am I gonna post on TikTok? Nobody cares about that.’”
Tran explained that she realized she’s not dancing for anybody but herself. “When I was on the show, every time I was dancing it was just because I really loved it. I don’t know about you guys, and I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this, but I never really cared about winning the Mirrorball [Trophy],” she said. “I mean, yeah, obviously I’m in the competition for a reason, but I was like I really just wanted to make it to the end so that I could just dance and take every second of this experience that I can. But like, I didn’t care where I placed.”
While noting that she won’t be hitting the DWTS ballroom each week, Tran called her taking up dance lessons “good for the soul.” She captioned the video, “I love dancing so much.”
After their elimination from DWTS during the Halloween Night episode, Tran and Farber have continued to post TikToks dancing together. Earlier this week, Tran and Farber danced a jive to Olly Murs’ “Dance With Me Tonight.” She captioned the TikTok, “I never got to do a jive but I think I like it!!!!!”
While practicing different dances, Tran and Farber have also made headlines for their chemistry outside of the ballroom — but the pair have played coy about their relationship status.
When asked during a recent episode of the “Sorry We’re Cyrus” podcast whether she would consider joining the DWTS tour, Tran replied that she would “love nothing more.” Tish Cyrus added, “How fun to go on tour with your boyfriend?” Tran replied, “Oh, God. If you say boyfriend, he’s going to freak out.”
Dancing With the Stars airs simultaneously on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
