In a new interview with Daily Times, KISS frontman Paul Stanley revealed that he is not against the idea of doing a one-time KISS show.
“Anything’s possible,” Paul said of the possibility of reuniting with the band. “KISS is so far from over, though KISS as we know it is done. But having our hands and our ideas and our fingers in what KISS continues as makes all the sense in the world. So, I look forward to whatever comes next without knowing what comes next. But I’m open to it all.”
Stanley had previously discussed the possibility of KISS performing a one-off show in a January 2023 interview. When asked if the final concert of KISS’s ‘End Of The Road’ tour would be the band’s last performance or if there might be one-off shows or a Las Vegas residency in the future, Stanley said, “I really can’t say. But it is the last of any kind of regular shows or touring.”
“It’s just time,” he told Yahoo! Entertainment. “And in the same way, it’s time consuming. And physically, it’s grueling to do what we do. Hell, if I could go out on stage in my jeans and a t-shirt, give us another 10, 15 years easily. But what we do is a whole different sport. I mean, we’re athletes; we’re running around on stage with 30, 40, pounds of gear, and it’s not possible to do it that much longer. So we’re not like other bands.” The rocker added, “So, will we do more shows or one-offs? I really have no idea. But this is a real clear mindset that the touring days and doing those kind of shows, that’s over.”
While it’s unclear whether the reunion shows would include a special performance on a KISS Kruise or even reuniting with his former bandmates for a few songs, former guitarist Bruce Kulick is disappointed that the band didn’t invite him to the farewell.
“I was disappointed that I wasn’t involved but I didn’t expect to be involved,” the guitarist revealed earlier. “I never got the vibe. I didn’t know about the avatars, okay? That was a very last minute where I only heard a little peep about something unusual happening on the last night.”
The band wrapped up their ‘End Of The Road’ farewell tour last December. Later, they announced they would continue the shows with avatars, as ABBA did.
KISS will reportedly be the first American band to go completely virtual and put on an avatar show. The avatars will be used for live performances around the world as well as in online digital spaces called ‘metaverse.’ The first digital avatar shows will start in 2027.
