Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has mocked All Time Low for their ‘suspicious’ defense after the alleged accusations.
All Time Low recently dropped the libel lawsuit related to the ‘false and damaging’ accusations of sexual misconduct towards minors. In response to this move, Radke wrote on social media, “‘Your honor he didn’t realize teenagers were throwing bras on stage for 12 years looking out into crowd and never thought for a sec it was weird hanging them on his mic so he made it his schtick.’”
In late 2021, guitarist Jack Barakat was accused of sexual misconduct and abuse towards female fans of the band. The allegations claimed these actions happened when the fans were minors.
The band quickly responded on social media, calling the accusations ‘completely false.’ Barakat also issued a statement, saying he needed to ‘personally deny the claims against me and the band, as they are 100% false.’
In 2022, the band filed a libel lawsuit to ‘identify the people responsible, prove the statements are false, and seek justice.’ The lawsuit sought damages from three anonymous people and asked the court to remove any defamatory posts.
Recently, on November 8, the band’s lawyer Michael B. Garfinkel asked the court to dismiss the case without prejudice. According to Rolling Stone, this means the band can bring the case back to court in the future.
“This has been a challenging time for our band as we fought to clear and debunk these false and damaging online rumors. We remain deeply grateful for those who have supported us throughout this legal process, including our fans, our peers, and collaborators. With this case dismissed, we remain committed to continuing to foster a healthy, safe environment both at our concerts and within our fan community, and we look forward to the next chapter of All Time Low,” the band stated.
Garfinkel now says that the investigation has focused on just one of the three accusors since one of them quickly removed the post, and the other’s post was proven false by a friend.
A follow-up hearing for the case is scheduled for November 13.
