Lethal Weapon and Mad Max star Mel Gibson returned to the action movie genre this year with Boneyard…and it’s available to stream for free later this month. The movie, which finds Gibson on the hunt for a serial killer known as “The Bone Collector,” was panned by critics upon release earlier this year, but no doubt fans of the actor will be eager to see the Blood Father star take the lead in this B-movie thriller.
Boneyard currently stands at 44% on Rotten Tomatoes (alongside a Popcornmeter rating of 35%) and stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Brian Van Holt, Nora Zehetner, Gabrielle Haugh, and Weston Cage, the son of Nicolas Cage, alongside Gibson. Boneyard is available to stream for free on Tubi from November 11, and you can check out the official synopsis below.
“When the skeletal remains of eleven women and girls are discovered in the New Mexico desert, an extensive investigation is launched. Inspired by true crime stories, this chilling crime-thriller follows Police Chief Carter (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson), Detective Ortega (Brian Van Holt), and Agent Petrovick (Mel Gibson) in a multi-agency effort to identify and apprehend the killer. As each of their agendas and methods clash, a tangled web of intrigue casts suspicion in all directions.”
Mel Gibson Is Never Far From Controversy
Having become near-unemployable in Hollywood during the mid-2000s following issues with alcohol and a series of controversies, including well-publicized antisemitic tirades, homophobic comments, and a domestic violence-related restraining order, Mel Gibson has now managed to slither his way back into the fold. The Oscar-winning actor and director will reportedly helm both The Passion of the Christand Lethal Weapon 5, and his next major project, the action thriller Flight Risk starring Mark Wahlberg, is set for release on January 24, 2025.
Gibson remains the subject of much controversy, and is never far from a gross comment, with the actor recently revealing who he would be voting for in the U.S. presidential election. And leaving any sense of decorum at the door.
“Oh man, that’s a big question. I don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone who I vote for.
I know what it would be like if we let [Kamala Harris] in, and that ain’t good. A miserable track record, a falling track record, no policies to speak of, and she’s got the IQ of a fence post.”

Monster Summer stars Mason Thames & Mel Gibson talk about making each other better actors and Gibson’s next project.
Over the last few years, Gibson has received support from several major A-listers, with Andrew Garfield, the star of Gibson’s Oscar-winning 2016 war movie Hacksaw Ridge, recently saying the Braveheart star has “done a lot of beautiful healing with himself.” An assessment that is sure to raise some eyebrows.
“I learned a lot, actually. I learned that people can heal. I learned that people can change, that people can get help. I learned that everyone deserves respect. And that people deserve second chances, third chances, fourth chances. That none of us are infallible. [Gibson has] done a lot of beautiful healing with himself. And thank God. Because he’s an amazing filmmaker, and I think he deserves to make films. He deserves to tell stories, because he has a very, very big, compassionate heart.”
