Happy Election Day to all those celebrating! It’s a big one today, and as voters continue lining up to cast their ballots in this pivotal election, more opinions about the candidates continue to emerge from Hollywood, this time from Hellboy actor Ron Perlman. Never one to bite his tongue about former president Donald Trump, Perlman firmly believes that Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris really has Trump shaking in his boots.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Dean Obeidallah Show, Perlman spoke favorably about Harris while pointing out there is a reason why Trump has backed out of doing more press and participating in another debate against the Democratic nominee. As Perlman bluntly put it, Trump is “f**king terrified” of Harris, and he went one step further by saying he expects Harris to win what is, in his mind, not even a close race:
“F****** Kamala Harris. She’s the first one that has put [Trump] in his place to the point where he’s so f******* terrified! He canceled all of his press, canceled all of his debate. He is terrified of her! Because she has his number. The parts of her campaign that I love the most is when she goes off script because you watch who she really is and how she responds in real time to questions, to things that are thrown at her. She’s had a lot of hecklers at some of her rallies, and the way she primarily deals with these people…She is smooth. She is tough. She is no nonsense. She is f****** brilliant!”
Ron Perlman Represents More of Kamala Harris’ Hollywood Supporters
Perlman is among the latest in a long line of celebrities that have backed Harris’ bid for President and spoken out against Trump. From Dave Bautista doing a bit on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to show his support, to Jennifer Lopez speaking on behalf of Harris at a rally after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s grossly inappropriate joke about Puerto Rico at a Trump event, Harris’ support from the power players in Hollywood has been strong. Most are united in securing their rights and the rights of other Americans, something they believe is in jeopardy should Trump become President again.

The actress wrote a passionate post endorsing Kamala Harris for President that spoke about legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community.
It’s Harris’ no-nonsense attitude that has made Perlman a fan of the presidential hopeful. The actor thought she made the right decision in picking Tim Walz as her running mate, and that she met Trump at his level at certain times, but in a respectful and classy way. Harris’ digs at the size of Trump’s rallies and her reminders to the public about his criminal acts (alleged and otherwise) have been applauded in the media, especially since Trump has no issues publicly trashing his adversaries. Perlman respected that Harris made it clear that she knows exactly the kind of man Trump is.
“The very first phrase I remember her uttering within 48 hours of her emergence was the people who she put in jail as a prosecutor. Felons, rapists, con men, people who game the system. And she says, ‘I know his type.'”
The actor’s support of Harris isn’t just about putting Trump down. Perlman points to her “heart and soul” as a person, comparing her charisma and power to that of former Presidents Barack Obama and John F. Kennedy. The actor said, “But the best thing is she has a heart and a soul and she’s my girl. I mean, she is my girl. We’re watching that extra gear that very, very few politicians get to have. Obama was, you know, since Kennedy, that extra charisma thing that TV cameras love and the power of love and that gets people off the sidelines. She has that as well, which is the reason why I don’t even think it’s going to be close on Tuesday.”
As voters head to the polls today, anxiety is at a high as many are calling this one of the most important presidential elections in U.S. history. There is a lot at stake, and that’s why celebrities and civilians alike are so fired up about it. So many rights are on the line as this race is much more multifaceted than being about one issue over another. Hopefully, everyone took the time to think about what they wanted for their future as they exercised their right to vote during this truly important election.
