One of the best action movies, not only for action icons Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, but of all time, is now available stream for free. So, if your Halloween fever has now passed, it might be worth pushing the memories of ghosts and ghouls away with Stallone and Snipes at each other’s throats in the future.
The movie is, of course, 1993’s action movie masterpiece Demolition Man. Starring the perfect one-two punch of Rocky and Rambo star Sylvester Stallone and Blade actor Wesley Snipes, the movie tells the age-old tale of a no-nonsense cop from the 1990s who finds himself tracking his nemesis, the psychopathic criminal Simon Phoenix, across time after they are both cryogenically frozen. Directed by Marco Brambilla and starring Sandra Bullock, Nigel Hawthorne, Benjamin Bratt, and Denis Leary alongside Stallone and Snipes, Demolition Man is now available to stream for free on Tubi. You can check out the official synopsis below.
“With innocent victims caught in the crossfire in Los Angeles’ intensifying war on crime, both cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and violent thug Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) are sentenced to a state of frozen incarceration known as “CryoPrison.” When Spartan is finally thawed 36 years later, it’s 2032, and Los Angeles is now a pacifist utopia called San Angeles. But with Phoenix again on the loose, Spartan must team up with future cop Lenina (Sandra Bullock) to apprehend the killer.”
Demolition Man Was Ahead of Its Time
Blending sci-fi, comedy, and action into the most delectable cinematic protein shake, at the time, Demolition Man was met with somewhat mixed reviews from both audiences and critics alike. The action outing currently sits at 63% from the former and 67% from the latter, with the critics’ consensus reading, “A better-than-average sci-fi shoot-em-up with a satirical undercurrent, Demolition Man is bolstered by strong performances by Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, and Sandra Bullock.”
Of course, there are those among us who have always understood the brilliance of Demolition Man and the three seashells, with the movie having achieved prominence in recent years, largely thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and the various ways in which the world of 2032 reflects how we all had to live.

Sylvester Stallone’s Action Heist Film Didn’t Deserve Its Worst Picture Nomination
The Razzies have an obsession with nominating Sylvester Stallone. But Cliffhanger didn’t deserve it.
While Demolition Man tells a perfect one-and-done story, the age of legacy sequels is upon us, with Sylvester Stallone having at one time planned to return to one of his other beloved 90s movies, Cliffhanger. The action superstar revealed in 2020 that discussions regarding a Demolition Man follow-up are now underway…though we haven’t heard much since.
“I think it is coming. We’re working on it right now with Warner Brothers and it’s looking fantastic, so that should come out. That’s going to happen.”
The push from Stallone for a sequel is likely due to the movie’s newfound popularity, with the actor saying in 2022 that he, like some of us, always knew Demolition Man was ahead of its time. “I always enjoyed this movie,” Stallone said. “It was a Great Action film wonderfully directed By Marco Brambilla. And the writers were way ahead of their time.”
