Taylor Momsen chose a Halloween costume inspired by her ‘bat attack’ earlier this year.
“HAPPY HALLOWEEN from the Bat Queen,” the Pretty Reckless singer wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, along with a series of photos with her costume. “Tag me in your costumes so I can see them!!!”
Fans really liked that she preferred to use such a costume after her bat attack. “On point for this year!” one fan said in the comment section.
Another one shared, “Awesome. So that bite you got finally turned you.” One other person added, “I love how you’ve embraced the bat. Your encounter with the bat onstage and your reaction to it was one of the most badass Rock and Roll moments of all time.”
In May, Momsen was bitten by a bat during a live show in Spain while opening for AC/DC. While she was on stage in Seville, the crowd shouted to warn her about the bat on her leg. She didn’t see the bat on her dress and asked the audience what they were pointing at, saying, “You guys are pointing at something and I don’t know what you’re saying.”
Later, the vocalist did an interview with GRAMMY.com where she talked about her memories of touring with AC/DC. Momsen shared photos from the tour, both onstage and behind the scenes. She also recalled her bat incident.
“So I guess now is a good time to talk about…the bat,” she began her words. “I was just minding my own business singing (appropriately) ‘Witches Burn’ [at our next show in Seville, Spain] when the audience all started pointing and screaming. It took til the end of the song to figure out what happened…”
Taylor continued, “But the jumbotrons caught it all. There it is, clinging to me. The noise must have scared the hell out of it. Then came the [rabies] shots…that was not fun for a loooong time. Ten shots over weeks in multiple countries. Then came the jokes (All with love from the amazing AC/DC crew, love you Super!!). Then came the nickname Batgirl. Can’t escape it, so just own it!”
After the bat attack, Momsen shared some strange coincidences on Instagram. She posted three videos: one from a shake-and-bake commercial she did as a child, another from the ‘Lopez Tonight’ show in 2011 where they made shake-and-bake bats for her, and the last showing her getting bitten by a bat while opening for AC/DC. In her caption, she pointed out the connection between the moments.
