The Substance: Plot, Cast, Run Time
Directed by Coralie Fargeat, The Substance follows Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore), an aging celebrity who turns to a mysterious miracle drug called The Substance that makes her decades younger. However, Sparkle gets more than she bargained for, when her alter ego Sue (Margaret Qualley) wants her time to shine in the limelight.
The horror movie also stars Dennis Quaid, Edward Hamilton-Clark, Gore Abrams, Oscar Lesage, Christian Erickson, Robin Greer and others. It runs two hours and 21 minutes.
The film has been submitted to the Golden Globes as a musical/comedy, rather than a drama.
