In a new interview with Loudwire, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale discussed being the new singer of Skid Row. In her words, Hale hasn’t received a single hate or negative comment and it’s a first in rock history. When the interviewer said it might be one of the first times that a singer didn’t receive a hate comment, she shared her excitement and added:
“Right? I know. It’s crazy because it’s kind of a passing of the torch around the circle. Everyone’s looking out for each other and being there for each other as much as with Eric and everything going on with him and his life. The boys and the band are so gracious, they’re like, ‘Let’s make sure we let this go in the right way because we care about you.’”
She then explained what she did in return:
“In my turn, I’m like, ‘Hey man you need some dates, I care about you guys so let me lend my voice and what I can to this.’ With all of the feedback, you’re incredibly right because I haven’t heard one negative comment. It’s just giving everybody a reason to smile and that’s what it’s all about. I don’t know, we’ve been talking about it [saying] ‘This is bigger than us doing some gigs.’ It’s amazing and what a beautiful thing to be a part of.”
Sebastian Bach’s Reaction To The News
On March 28, Skid Row shared on their social media accounts that Grönwall would take a break both due to health issues and to focus on himself and his family. They also announced that Hale would be joining them for the next shows.
It seems that this didn’t make Sebastian Bach happy. The rocker reacted to the news by unfollowing Hale on social media platforms. In addition to this, he explained in an interview that the band should have given fans something that made the band possible instead. When asked if he would consider joining back to the band as the singer, he said:
“I can definitely see that happening, considering they play the same songs I play. When I get a substantial royalty check for an album I did with musicians that I haven’t been in the same room with since 1996, I feel like a piece of sh*t. Because we should be giving something back to the fans that have made this great life possible.”
