Liam Gallagher reacted to Pete Townshend’s recent comment on Oasis.
“Liam, did u see Pete Townsend said he was ‘disappointed’ Oasis is back together??” a fan asked the singer. “For a good reason tho -he says he loves your solo stuff.”
Gallagher responded by saying, “Bless him.” Townshend made these statements in a recent interview with The Standard.
“Well, I’m disappointed,” the guitarist said of Oasis’ reunion. When asked if he was upset about not getting tickets to the show, Townshend replied, “No, because I really like their solo albums.”
Oasis got back together on August 27 this year, 15 years after the Gallagher brothers had a feud that broke up the band. Ticket prices became a hot topic because people had to pay more than double due to dynamic pricing.
Musicians like Myles Kennedy, Jack White, and David Gilmour have shared their opinions on ticket prices. “Oasis should do what’s right for them. Chose a ticket price and stick to it,” Gilmour stated.
“One of my favorite choruses of all time,” Myles Kennedy talked about Oasis in another interview with Rockklassiker. “As a songwriter, a lot of times we think in parts, like, ‘Oh, that’s a great part. Why couldn’t I have written that part?’”
He continued, “And to me, one of the greatest choruses ever written is ‘Champagne Supernova.’ That is such a massive hook. So I would love to see that live. Just that moment would be worth whatever bazillions of dollars they’re charging.”
“This is the kind of rock’n’roll you’re not gonna get at Wembley Stadium for £400!” the singer mentioned this after he joined ‘No Name’s ‘Archbishop Harold Holmes’ at his intimate London show.
Oasis is canceling all tickets sold on secondary websites for their UK tour. Live Nation and SJM, the band’s promoters, said over 50,000 tickets will be voided. Canceled tickets will be available again on Ticketmaster at the original price. Oasis had 1.4 million tickets for their UK shows, but over 10 million fans from 158 countries tried to get them, leading to high resale prices.
