The first trailer for Mission Impossible 8 has received a release date, according to a brand-new report. After months of anticipation, and candid looks at death-defying stunts by Tom Cruise, it seems fans will be able to watch the first official footage sooner rather than later. Expect the Mission Impossible 8 trailer to make its way to theaters and online early next month.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the trailer for Mission Impossible 8 is set to be released on November 11. This date lines up right before the blockbuster Christmas film Red One hits theaters on November 15, allowing the untitled Mission Impossible film to show off its footage on the big screen. Like most trailers for the franchise, a teaser will likely be the first one to roll out for the sequel’s marketing campaign. Still, it should be filled with enough action and high-stakes drama to get fans ready for what could be Ethan Hunt’s final mission after Dead Reckoning underwhelmed at the box office.
With the eighth film in the franchise dropping its Dead Reckoning Part Two subtitle, it is expected that the trailer will reveal the official name for Mission Impossible 8. Moreover, it should give fans a better look at new cast members joining the acclaimed spy crew. Nick Offerman and Hannah Waddingham are among those who join the franchise for the first time, moving from the small screen to the biggest canvas theatrically possible. No word if they will be performing any of their own stunts, of course. Insurance companies have enough headaches with Cruise as it is.
What is Mission Impossible 8 About?
The end of Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning left Ethan Hunt and his crew one major step closer to destroying the Entity, an artificial intelligence with the power to disrupt the entire world. Hunt is able to secure one of the keys after his train fight with Gabriel, but the objective is far from over. Although Mission Impossible 8 dropped the subtitle, it is highly expected to directly follow up the events of the last film and continue the Entity storyline, which should be concluded next time around. Principal photography on MI8 occurred earlier this year, featuring Cruise doing what he does on screen — running.

What is unclear is if Rebecca Ferguson will return to the franchise after her character died at the hands of Gabriel. The confirmed returning cast includes Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, and Henry Czerny. In addition to Offerman and Waddingham, new cast members include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman. Director Christopher McQuarrie doesn’t think Mission Impossible 8 will be the last we’ll see of Ethan Hunt and company, especially since it will be bringing back characters from previous films in the franchise. It’s safe to say that the new cast members are involved due to the emergence of the Entity, but it seems the movie series is also gearing up to make Atwell a co-lead with Cruise after Ferguson’s exit.
