Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo can’t escape The Madness. The Rustin and Sing Sing star leads a new action thriller series for Netflix next month, and we now have our first look at this tale of conspiracy and murder. The Madness marks the latest major project for Domingo, who has seen his star rise rapidly following his Oscar-nominated performance in last year’s acclaimed biographical drama Rustin, and sounds like the perfect project for the actor, allowing him to stretch both his dramatic and action muscles.
You can check out the new teaser trailer for The Madness below.
The Madness is all set to land on Netflix next month, and follows Domingo as a media pundit who finds himself being hunted from all sides after stumbling across a deadly conspiracy. Alongside the teaser, you can also check out the official synopsis for the action thriller series below.
“After a media pundit stumbles upon a dead body deep in the Poconos woods, he finds himself framed for the murder of a notorious white supremacist.”
Emmy Award winner Colman Domingo, who is also best-recognized for roles in the likes of If Beale Street Could Talk, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Fear the Walking Dead, and Euphoria, will lead the series, starring alongside Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us, Orange Is the New Black), Gabrielle Graham (Twenties, 21 Thunder), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook), Tamsin Topolski (The Diplomat), and Thaddeus J. Mixon (Creed III).
The Madness Reflects the Mad, Mad World We’re Living In
The Madness is created by Stephen Belber (O.G., The Laramie Project), and is described by Netflix as “an eight-episode limited series.” Discussing the show with Netflix Tudum, Domingo revealed what drew him to the conspiratorial thriller, and now it reflects the “mad, mad world” we’re all currently living in.
“We do live in a very mad, mad world right now. You can just turn on the news right now, and you’re like, ‘What is being said? And how is that being done? And why is that normal?’ None of it is normal. This [series] is really letting you know that you’re right. It’s not normal. Let’s get to the bottom of it.”

The Shadow Strays, Netflix’s new crime thriller, introduces audiences to a new action star: Aurora Ribero.
The actor, who is also due to join the MCU in the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and star as Joseph Jackson, the father and manager of pop icon Michael Jackson in next year’s Michael, continued, saying he cannot wait to play such a “unique protagonist” in The Madness.
“Everything about this conspiracy thriller excited me. It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced. Someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies. You realize you have more in common with them than you thought you had in the beginning. I think it says a lot about who we are now and what we’re willing to do, and also to look at who’s really pulling the strings and for whose benefit.”
The Madness
is due to debut on Netflix on November 28, 2024.
