Loki star Ke Huy Quan recently shared an exciting update regarding his possible return to the role of TVA scientist Ouroboros, also known as OB. Originally appearing in Loki season 2, OB is TVA’s eccentric genius who oversees all technical aspects, from equipment repair to writing the guidebook for the agency.
Ouroboros played a significant role in Season 2, helping Loki with his unprecedented time-slipping issues as well as aiding him in fixing the Sacred Timeline. Eventually, he would return to TVA and reprogram Miss Minutes, who had gone rogue and betrayed Ravonna Renslayer. Fans adored the character so much for all the fun he brought to the Disney+ series and many are hoping to see him again in future Marvel projects.
While speaking with ScreenRant about his 2025 action comedy film Love Hurts, Ke Huy Quan discussed the possibility of OB making a return to the MCU. He doesn’t necessarily confirm his involvement in any future projects, but he also does not deny it either. He stated the following:
Oh my gosh, I love that character. I remember reading him on the page, and he just jumped right off of it. I was so happy, and I felt so lucky to be able to play him. Also, when the series came out, you’ve got to understand, we couldn’t promote it because we were on strike, the actor’s strike. So, I didn’t get to talk much about it then. But when the show debuted, people really loved this character.
And I remember asking Kevin Feige before I did this, I said, “Is this going to be a one-time thing?” He said, “Ke, if the audience loves O.B., we’ll bring him back. We always give the fans what they want.”
So, I haven’t gotten the call yet, but I’m waiting, just like everybody. Fingers crossed, but meanwhile, here’s the thing, Love Hurts comes out a week before Valentine’s Day. This is a Valentine’s movie. I’m super proud of it, it’s a fun movie to bring your date, your girlfriend, your friend, so please go support it when it comes out, it would mean the world to me.
Could Ke Huy Quan’s OB Really Return to the MCU?
With the conclusion of Loki Season 2, the God of Mischief has transformed into the God of Stories, holding the fragile Sacred Timeline entirely by himself. After this, one would assume that TVA’s role in the MCU was over, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Deadpool x Wolverine demonstrated how important TVA is to the MCU, and it is likely to remain relevant in the forthcoming stories, making OB’s return even more plausible.

Furthermore, Marvel has a habit of reintroducing fan-favorite characters, such as Wolverine’s recent return and Robert Downey Jr.’s new role as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. And, with the growing multiverse storylines, OB has plenty of opportunities to take center stage once again, particularly considering TVA’s critical contribution to the success of Disney+’s Loki.
In other words, Ouroboros’ story is far from over, and his presence in future projects will certainly cement his place as one of Marvel’s most beloved characters. Meanwhile, fans are excited about the arrival of other highly anticipated films and TV shows, including Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, Ironheart, and Daredevil: Born Again.
