Metallica has finally announced their first Australian tour in 12 years.
Metallica had originally planned a tour of Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot in early 2019, scheduled for October that year. However, in late September, the band announced that frontman James Hetfield had returned to rehab for addiction treatment.
After some teasing, the band revealed that they will return to Australia in November 2025. They will play in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney before heading to New Zealand for a show in Auckland.
“We’ve locked down our return with stadium shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland next November! Tickets go on sale Monday, 4 November, Local Time. Fan Club Presales begin Tuesday, 29 October, Local Time,” the band wrote in their social media announcement.
The tour will begin at Perth’s Optus Stadium on November 1. After that, they will perform at Adelaide Oval on November 5, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on November 8, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on November 12, and finish at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 15.
Metallica will be joined by Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies on this tour.
