Miyagi-Do is feeling the pressure in the exciting official trailer for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2. The brand-new footage (below) reveals that Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) has finally joined Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) in Barcelona, Spain for the global karate tournament known as the Sekai Taikai. But their uneasy students are reeling as they face off against some intense and imposing new opponents over the next five episodes of the Netflix series.
Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) is violently kicked off the mat and into the waiting arms of his stunned friends and fellow Miyagi-Do team members Robby (Tanner Buchanan) and Miguel (Xolo Maridueña). Devon (Oona O’Brien) falls prey to, as Johnny would say, a “badass” aerial wheel kick, and former teammate Tory (Peyton List) also feels the sting of defeat at the hands of real-life YouTube martial arts sensation, Rayna Vallandingham. Vallandingham’s character, Zara Malik, taunts Tory after taking her down by saying:
“Welcome to Barcelona, bitch!”
Daniel tries to calm the team down and insists that the tournament isn’t just Miyagi-Do versus Cobra Kai, because a total of 16 well-trained squads are competing in the prestigious tourney. Meanwhile, Robby is forced to watch as his estranged girlfriend Tory appears to be flirting with bad boy Kwon Jae-Sung (Brandon H. Lee), before the former couple square off against one another in the Sekai Taikai!
New Faces Join the Fight in Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2
A trio of newcomers joins Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2, including the “tremendously important” addition of Sensei Wolf, who is portrayed by Mortal Kombat’s Lewis Tan. Tan also played Shatterstar in both Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. And in the new trailer, Wolf and Johnny (Zabka) can be seen exchanging some friendly fire via their witty “Barcelona” banter.
However, something that is also touched on in the new footage is Daniel’s (Macchio) quest to find out more about Mr. Miyagi’s (Pat Morita) mysterious past — and why the late karate master fought in the Sekai Taikai tournament. Co-showrunner Hayden Schlossberg teased more about Miyagi’s past and Daniel’s search for answers in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“From the very beginning of this series, we’ve liked the idea of exploring the Miyagi character from the perspective of Daniel LaRusso. The character of Miyagi has always been there every season of the show. So, going into every season, we think about, how do we bring those Miyagi vibes to that season? Going into this last season, we wanted to give the Daniel LaRusso character the ultimate conflict, which would be challenging his thoughts about Mr. Miyagi. And we just draw that from real life where people view their parents or mentors as perfect people.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 Posts Series-Low RT Audience Score
Cobra Kai Season 6 currently holds the dubious honor of posting the worst Rotten Tomatoes audience score of the entire streaming series.
Schlossberg continued by saying:
“Or at least that they have this authority on their lives, and then you get older — and you see your mentor as a human being and in a more three-dimensional way. Now, we only have the first five episodes out there [of the finale season], and he’s only gotten a taste of it. Yet, putting Daniel through that kind of turmoil just felt like in keeping with what we’ve done every season, and gave us the kind of big finale we’re ultimately looking for.”
Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 drops Friday, November 15 on Netflix, and all five of the new episodes will be available to stream and/or binge-watch. Meanwhile, Martin Kove accidentally revealed Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3’s release date while appearing on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast back in August. According to the Kreese actor, Karate Kid fans should look for the final five episodes of the Netflix show’s swan song in February 2025.
