In a recent interview with San Antonio Current, Testament’s Alex Skolnick was asked to choose one Testament album to have in a post-apocalyptic bunker.
“That’s funny. I would probably say the second one, ‘The New Order,’” the rocker shared his pick. He explained why, saying many songs from this album are popular with fans and are often included in their set lists: “Just because, for some reason, most of those songs are very popular with fans, and the set list always has something from that record. We try to represent as many records as we can. It gets more difficult with each album you put out, because you can only squeeze so many songs into a set list.”
Speaking of albums, Chuck Billy has shared some more details about the band’s next album during another interview. “We’re almost done recording right now. We finished, I’d say, three quarters of the recording before we left for Europe,” the rocker revealed during a previous interview. “And we have a three-week break now. And Steve’s [DiGiorgio] in the studio finishing bass and Eric’s [Peterson] finishing up some of the rhythm guitars, but out of the 11 songs, I already tracked eight of ’em. So I just have a couple more songs to sing.”
“We have another break after this U.S. tour in November. We’ll finish up all the backing vocals and anything that needs to be — after getting to live with it, which is something nice,” he added.
The band is currently in the works of recording a new album, and as it appears, it will also include a ballad-like song with the Nightwish singer Floor Jansen.
The band intended to release their new album this year, but details about the release date are still unknown. In the meantime, fans can see Testament live on their current tour. The tour ends on October 27th at The Warfield in San Francisco, California.
