Jack Quaid, the young actor famous for giving life to Hughie in Amazon’s superhero series The Boys, has decided to share what he expects from his character for season 5, which will premiere sometime in 2026. Specifically, he has one important request: he’d like less screen time for his butt.
In The Boys, Quaid plays Hughie Campbell, a member of the gang fighting the “supes” who work for the mammoth-like corporation known as Vought International. While he doesn’t have a specific power, in recent seasons, we’ve seen Hughie experiment with Compound V, allowing him to go toe to toe with other supes for a limited amount of time.
As reported by Bleeding Cool, Quaid spoke to Josh Horowitz on a live recording of Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused during New York Comic Con 2024. While Quaid shared a few details about his character’s evolution, and spoke candidly about the issue at hand:
“Oh, man, I kind of just want nudity to stop. My butt’s had a lot of screen time – and it’s not a great one, you know what I mean.”
Horowitz asked Quaid how he dealt with his family seeing him take his clothes off and walk around naked in the show. This was his response:
“Yes, no … anything involved in my a**, I’ve just been like, ‘Can you just not watch?’ I mean, season 3, don’t watch it. Like, no one in my family should watch season 3. My butt’s all over that thing.”
The Boys Will Come to an End With Season 5
Despite the upcoming season 5 being reported as the end of The Boys, it’s unlikely to be the last we’ll see of this universe. Following the success of spinoff Gen V‘s first season and with a ton of material still left to cover from the original comics, we’re likely to continue to see supes on our screens for many years to come.
Speaking of the final season, in terms of what to expect, old characters will likely return, and there will be new ones. However, the biggest question in everyone’s minds is where will the new season go in regards to the shock element. Every season has raised the stakes of the previous one, and it has paid off. Season 4 was the most extreme so far, but Quaid himself said season 5 would up the series’ own game.
