Bassist and vocalist Ryan Neff has left As I Lay Dying just a month before their European tour. Neff explained that his departure was the right move for his ‘personal and professional journey.’ Neff confirmed his exit from As I Lay Dying in an Instagram post on October 18.
“As of today, I have made the decision to leave As I Lay Dying,” the bassist wrote in his statement. “This choice comes after much reflection, and I believe it is the right step for my personal and professional journey. I am grateful for the experiences and connections I’ve made during my time with the band. Thank you to all the fans for your support.”
Neff joined the band in 2022, and as of now, the band has not responded or announced a replacement for the upcoming tour. It’s still unclear who will fill in for him during the tour, set to promote their upcoming album ‘Through Storms Ahead.’
As I Lay Dying’s eighth studio album is scheduled for release on November 15 through Napalm Records. The album includes new tracks like ‘Burden,’ ‘The Cave We Fear To Enter,’ and the recently released ‘We Are The Dead,’ featuring guest vocalists Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail and Tom Barber from Chelsea Grin and Darko.
