Chucky fans, we have some bad news for you. While most of the films starring the possessed killer doll are currently streaming on Netflix, the streamer will remove them from its library on October 31. It’s part of the usual circulation of horror franchises on streaming services, but this means fans will have a bittersweet spooky season.
The Chucky films that fall under Universal Pictures’ distribution umbrella will leave Netflix on Halloween. While most of them aren’t exactly critically acclaimed, they are still beloved by Chucky fans. The Chucky movies you can watch on Netflix until October 31 are:

The Chucky franchise, officially named Child’s Play, follows the adventures of a killer Good Guys doll. Before being killed by the police, Charles Lee Ray manages to transfer his soul to an inanimate doll that a desperate mother buys for her son. Andy Barclay gets the present he asked for, but then the doll begins to show signs of life, and he doesn’t need any batteries to try and transfer his soul to the helpless boy. What followed was a franchise led by creator Don Mancini that went through all sorts of changes but always stayed in the hearts of millions of horror fans.
How You Can Still Enjoy the Company of Chucky This Halloween
Luckily, as Chucky waves goodbye to your favorite streaming service, another iteration of the iconic slasher killer is available for you to enjoy this Halloween. In fact, these series entries may actually be the best of the franchise. First, Child’s Play, the original Chucky film, is still available to stream for absolutely free. Chucky’s superb origin story is available on Tubi.
Second, you could also stream the 2019 reboot on Prime Video. Child’s Play, by director Lars Klevberg, is loosely based on the character, but it offers a very cool spin on the subject of possession. In the remake, Chucky is actually a self-named Buddi doll, a high-technology toy that uses the magic of artificial intelligence to become sentient and wreak havoc in a small suburb in Chicago. The remake starring Aubrey Plaza is easily one of the horror reimaginings in recent memory.
